Participating in the International Yoga Festival 2017 in Parmarth Niketan Ashram on the Ganges River in Rishikesh, India was probably one of the highlights of my yogic journey. It was seven days (March 1st-8th) of celebrating yoga in classes, lectures, concerts, 'satsangs', 'aarti'; sharing experiences over breakfast, lunch, and dinner with yoga enthusiasts from all over the world; browsing the special exhibits; and exploring Rishikesh itself.
Some of the classes I most enjoyed were Whirling Meditation with Mert Guler; Sattva Yoga with Anand Mehrotra; Jivamukti Yoga with Jules Febre and Kundalini Yoga with Tommy Rosen. Daily morning Sound Meditation with Anandra George from 630-730am on the banks of the Ganges River on the steps of Parmarth Niketan Ashram was the perfect way to start each day. (see pic)
The lectures of Dr. Bruce Lipton and Dr. Vandana Shiva were so amazing and educational. 'Satsangs' (spiritual discourse) with Pujya Sri Mooji and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati were insightful and inspiring. I couldn't get enough.
I could see why yogis from all over the world make this yoga festival an annual pilgrimage. If possible, I hope to return and benefit from the wealth of knowledge, experience and positive energy that is generated from the convergence of hundreds of yoga practitioners and experts at the home of yoga in Rishikesh, India. Thank you, Parmarth Niketan & Ganga Resort. Highly recommended, and don't forget to check out the links for more info.
